The Club started in May 2023 with three people. It has grown to more than a dozen now and we have started to play as a band in local care homes, clubs and venues for older folk.
The members comprise mainly from the residents of Turners Hill Park, where we currently meet every Tuesday afternoon 2-4 pm at the Country Club. We welcome new members of any ability, and initially you don't need an instrument. Just turn up!!

First picked up a Ukulele 9 years ago, learning the basics of playing before breaking out and joining a little band. My main pleasure is learning how to play new songs and I get a real buzz playing to an audience, leaving the venue knowing we put on a professional performance.

January 2023- Travelled all the way to York to celebrate a friends 50th Wedding Anniversary with absolutely no thought about Ukuleles. Went to a social club the night before and a small group got up during the evening and played 3 songs.
Something stirred in me...
By the time the week was over I had met 4 different people in 4 different venues all talking about Ukuleles! I went out and bought one!!
